Free Workshops

All Somerset residents are welcome to join these FREE workshops which are to be held online on Zoom throughout May and June.

The classes will cover a range of topics, with everything from Hip Hop and Breakdancing to traditional watercolour techniques so people of all ages and interests can get involved.

The workshops will be family friendly (although not specifically aimed at children).

All workshops can be booked through Eventbrite via the links below:

Join us for this 90 minute workshop where Frome-based rapper, Xman, will lead us through a history of Hip Hop and an analysis of the great rappers of our time before incorporating some story creation exercises and rap techniques into the class so that you're confident and ready to perform your flow (if you wish!).

Frome artist, David Chandler, will be hosting two family-friendly watercolour sessions on Zoom in June, teaching us how to turn a puddle of coloured water into a masterpiece! Watercolour is easy to pick up and tricky to master, but this session will provide you with the skills you need to get started on your own creative journey.

Join us for two exciting online breakdancing workshops, open to anybody living in Somerset. During this venture into hip hop culture, professional breakdancer Morton will lead us through the four main elements of breakdancing: Top rock, Footwork, Power moves and Freezes, giving you the ability to throw down if ever the occasion occurs!

The classes are free of charge courtesy of funding from Somerset Skills and Learning (SS&L) so there will be a small amount of paperwork to be filled out before and after the class to ensure we can keep offering these workshops at no cost.
